Details on how Xavier copied every mutant on the planet’s mind are brought to life. Also, we are shown some of the early recruitment and mutant government formation. There’s not a great deal of action but the information contained in this issue was very good. There are some mild spoilers ahead so read the issue first if you don’t want anything spoiled.

Overall it was a good issue. If you wanted to jump in on X-Men and picked this issue to do so, you’re going to want to go back and get the rest of them. You’re going to be lost. I’ve read them all any I’m not 100% sure of what is going on.

Credits

Writer: Jonathan Hickman

Artist: R.B. But at the same time if feels like the information here was definitely necessary. So it was still very much worth the read. Silva’s art was great as usual. I’m a little back an forth on how he draws Xavier. His Forge was very Magnum PI. That seems to be going around in comics right now.

I don’t really dig the whole year 1000 story. Maybe I’m just not smart enough to grasp it. I hope by issue #6 I’ll get it. But I’m not promising anything.

I did like the recruitment of Emma Frost by Xavier and Magneto. That sequence was pretty entertaining. Also Namor’s rejection was a highlight too. I’m interested to see how that story turns out.

Support the Site

The best thing we can ask you to do to support our site is to donate to a good cause.
