Dark Agnes #1

Agnes de Chastillon shows up just in time to save her friend Etienne Villiers from the executioner in Dark Agnes #1. His crimes against Duke D’Alencon have led him to beheading. But the friends escape to fight against the corrupt Duke and his henchmen once more. And with a price on Agnes’ head, it proves to be hard to lay low. This pair’s troubled past is bound to catch up to them eventually. So why not just head straight for their troubles. At least Agnes thinks its a good idea.

Dark Agnes #1

This series started out really strong. Lot’s of action from the first few pages. The back story elements were beautifully woven into the story so that it did not bog down progress. Pizzari’s art is fantastic. The characters are wonderfully detailed. The setting and backdrops are stunning and colorful. There is some language and bloody violence if you want to avoid that sort of thing. There’s also a lot of French you may have to look up. But I thoroughly enjoyed this first issue. I look forward to what this series is going to bring.
