The Guardians are on a much needed vacation in Guardians of the Galaxy #1. But how long will the Universe let them rest without some new crisis? Unfortunately they can’t even enjoy Quills godzilla-looking turkey before Richard Rider shows up. The Greek gods of Earth have been reborn and are out to destroy the Universe one World at a time. But the Guardians want to take a rest and stay safe. But when gods have the ability to slip in and out of our dimension at will and level whole worlds, no where is safe. So Quill and Rocket sneak out in the night to go help Nova.

Guardians of the Galaxy #1
A restart to #1 makes this a perfect starting point to jump in Guardians of the Galaxy. There is some stuff you might not fully understand as the story has some history that is alluded to during the issue. But for the most part it was a good start to the next phase for the Guardians. If you’re just picking up the comic after the MCU movies, there are some things you might have to get used to. Groot speaks in sentences. Rocket is wearing suits now. And there are some new Guardians in Phyla and Moondragon. So if you’re looking to start readin Guardians comics, now is as good a time as any to jump in.
