Morbius #1

Morbius #1 is a fast paced introduction into the life of Dr. Michael Morbius. The Living Vampire may have a cure for his vampirism within his reach. But there are many dangers on the path to get his cure. As a Nobel Prize-winning researcher, he dedicated his life to curing his blood disorder. But his inpatients led to turning himself into a vampire using bat DNA and electroshock therapy. With his new powers and bloodlust, he tries to bring an end to his pain and hunger.

This issue jumped right into action. We get bits and pieces of Morbius’ back story intermingled with violence. I’m pretty unfamiliar with Morbius as a character. But with the movie coming and the relauched comic, I had to grab it. Plus I’m a sucker for vampire stories any way. Pun intended. The art is a little dark and loses a lot of detail. But for what the story is, it fits perfectly. The issue left my head kind of spinning trying to figure it all out. It was really exciting though for sure.

Morbius #1

Michael Morbius attacks a villain hideout of a villain called The Melter. The Melter is working on some kind of experimental formula he’s about to test on some of his henchmen. But Morbius shows up and steals the formula before he can test it. Morbius leave them all alive though.

Once back with the formula, Michael does some tests on it before he injects himself. Initially his pain and hunger are gone. But the pain comes back quickly and with a vengeance. Back at The Melter’s lair, a woman shows up who claims to be in pursuit of Morbius. She offers to work with Melter to find him.
