Central City has fallen in The Flash #82. “Rogues Reign” part one has Leonard Snart as King and the Flash nowhere to be found. The speed force is gone. And with Luthor’s enhancements, each of the Rogues has their own territory to rule over. Mirror Master’s amplified abilities have allowed them to shape reality how they see fit. But the rest of team Flash is still resisting the reign of King Cold.
I’m excited for this new arc. DC’s Year of the Villain is getting into full force. But I really do hope that we can get back to the heroes winning every once in a while again soon. This issue was entertaining throughout. The art is very good. I like the hood and the beard for Captain Cold. It would be difficult to jump in on any comic that is at issue 82, but this is the beginning of and arc so now is as good a time as any. The shock at the end of this issue was pretty unexpected too.

The Flash #82
With the speed force dead and the Rogues’ abilities on steroids. There is not much room for resistance to the King of Central City. The Rogues aren’t even very trusting in each other anymore. But Iris, Avery, Wallace and Commander Cold are still pressing on to find a way back to the way things were. And they have to do it without Barry or their powers.
Avery, Wallace and Commander Cold are caught on a mission involving a piece of Mirror Master’s tech. Commander Cold stays to face off with Snart while Avery and Wallace get away. They get the mirror fragment back to Iris but Snart freezes Commander Cold. I didn’t think much of Commander being frozen until Snart throws his frozen head at the feet of the captured Barry Allen.
