Willow and Buffy manage to save Xander but in Buffy the Vampire Slayer #7, but there is something wrong with Willow in the aftermath. Xander seems fine after they manage to restore his soul, but Willow isn’t sleeping a great deal and has terrible nightmares every night. Is this the cost of saving her friend? Is it going to be like this forever?

This issue was written by Jordie Bellaire with a few different artists and colorist combined to make it happen. The beginning and ending are drawn and colored by David Lopez and Raul Angulo. The middle sequences are illustrated by Sas Milledge. Art wise, I really love Millege’s pages in this issue. The Lopez art is not my favorite but it does a fine job capturing the characters. Bellaire has done a great job rebooting this series with fresh stories. Whether your a long time fan or new, you can enjoy this series.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer #7 – *SPOILERS*
Terrible nightmares have been waking Willow up at the Witching Hour every night since they used the stone to restore Xander’s soul. In her dream, Willow has to fight off a version of herself that demands that she needs her. She also sees Xander in various forms in this dream. First she sees him in a grave yard by a marker with his name on it. Then she sees his vampire form. Later they are children again. And finally she sees him as a full on demon. She eventually kills the other version of herself to escape the nightmare. She wakes up when she falls into the fiery pit that surrounds her.
We then find out that she is retelling the dream sequence to Xander. While she struggles with what to do now that half of her soul is gone, Xander tries to provider her some comfort. We also learn that Xander is now half vampire and must drink blood like other vamps.
