Stranger Things: Six #3 has Francine and the other kids at the Hawkins Lab at the mercy of Dr. Brenner. It is an interesting look at the lab prior to the events of the first season of Stranger Things. We get a deeper look at the other kids that were housed at the Lab with Eleven, and see some new abilities. Its a must have if you’re a fan of the show.
Credits and Thoughts
Jody Houser does an excellent job again with these new characters. And the story is so compelling I’m pretty sad its only 4 issues. Edgar Salazar provides the pencils and Keith Champagne provides inks. They do an excellent job bringing the characters to life. The colors by Marissa Louise really set the mood for whatever the situation.
Stranger Things: Six #3 – *SPOILERS*
Francine faces the sensory deprivation tank for the first time as Dr Brenner tries to amplify her psychic ability. She sees a lot of dark thinks while she’s in there, including a demigorgon, but she only tells Brenner about the waffles. We get a flash back to when Francine ran away to Ricky’s house, which planted the seed to get her into the Lab. All the kids are brought together to observe Nine’s experiment. Brenner thinks seeing her dedication will help inspire the others. Nine is attempting to set objects on fire with her mind. Francine sees something bad coming, but its too late to stop it. Instead of the test items catching on fire, a lab tech is burned to death.
Brenner then tries to convince Francine to be a more diligent with training so she can prevent things like that in the future. Francine is just shocked that the program isn’t coming to a screeching halt. Though she does convince Brenner that she is on board. Later, Francine tells Ricky that they are getting out of the lab by passing him a note in the cafeteria.
