Adventures of the Super Sons #11

As always, I will be discussing specifics of this issue of the comic so if you do not want to spoil the issue before reading it stop reading right here. If you want to get caught up with a physical copy of this or any other issues, head right to mycomicshop.com and get caught up. If a physical copy is not your thing, you can sign up at comiXology.com where you can get caught up on a ton of titles with digital issues. Their unlimited subscription lets you read many back issues for a monthly fee.

As this maxi-series comes closer and closer to the end, the excitement builds as Rex Luthor and his band of counterfeit kid super villains inch closer to their invasion of Earth. Super Boy and Robin are still stuck in outer space with only a couple of options to get home. Pay a space cabbie a googolplex credits (plus tip, natch) or get the hypercube from Rex and travel through a portal. Along with their future selves, a green lantern in training, the creator of the Hex-Bot and the cabbie, they battle Rex’s Injustice Army. The super team are victorious so it seems, but have they really stopped Rex’s plan?

The series has been written by Peter J. Tomasi and has been thoroughly entertaining. The banter between Damian and Jon is always amusing and the story is action packed and original. This issue had pencils by Carlo Barberi, inks by Matt Santorelli and colors by Protobunker. There are lots of detailed single page and double page spreads of the battle with wonderfully drawn and colored kid super villains and our heroes. This has been an excellent series and, while I’m excited to read the conclusion, I’m going to miss the adventures of Super Boy and Robin.
