This annual does what annuals do and tells a bigger than normal story for Catwoman to give us all a bit of a new experience. The credits are pretty extensive and it comes through in the book with all the different styles brought together to tell the story. Joelle Jones’ writing here is amazing. I loved how we got the whole story from all the different character perspectives and just the story itself was compelling. For art, there was Le Beau Underwood, Hugo Petrus, and Scott Godlewski along with Jordie Bellaire on colors. Bellaire did a particularly wonderful job on the coloring the different art styles and story moments.

The story itself is of Catwoman finding a girl in need and helping her out. The girl then brings friends along and Selina decides to teach them how to fend for themselves the way she always has. They in turn set out on their own to steal a spear they see is left alone in some rich guy’s mansion but end up getting three girls killed in the process. The main angle of the story is the investigation of who killed these girls, as it appear to be a staged suicide crime scene but also to frame Selina as some kind of cult leader. I’m not going to even spoil the good parts of who dun it, but I will leave you with my favorite panel. Selina catches up to one of the survivors and scolds them like a parent.
