I absolutely love this series. Wolverine was always my second favorite of the X-Men (Nightcrawler being #1) and we get two of Wolverines daughters trying to shut down the people that would create clones like themselves to use as weapons. This issue has Marino Tamaki writing, Diego Olortegui penciling, Walden Wong inking and Chris O’Halloran coloring. The Ashley Witten cover is an awesome look at a battle hardened Laura Kinney. Here we have the conclusion of the Dear Gabby story.

Last issue Gabby had stormed out of the her and Laura’s apartment. With Laura’s mission to find and end any cloning facilities that would use clones like her and Gabby were used, she doesn’t consider the clones themselves. Gabby has different ideas and wants to save all the clones and considers them sisters. This disagreement lead to the falling out. So Laura is missing her sister at the beginning of the story. After a brief update call about the information received from their last mission, Gabby calls to ask about how to stop a train.

So what sort of mission is Gabby on that she needs to stop a train? Well freeing a bunch of X-23 turkeys of course. Laura races to help her sister, who didn’t ask for her help btw. What seems like a silly mission quickly turns dangerous when a giant security claw grabs Gabby and attempts to through from the train. With the claw’s attempt unsuccessful, Gabby destroys the claw, only for Laura to find out the train is set to self destruct. The girls are unable to free the turkeys before the train explodes, but it turns out X-23 turkeys are flame resistant.

So why is someone breeding indestructible turkeys? Hopefully We will find out more next issue. These books are drawn really well. The character emotions are captured really well. I love the story so far. We have two extremely deadly assassins with very dark pasts but the story is still able to be fun and lighthearted sometimes. The interaction between Gabby and Laura is extremely entertaining, from the funny moments to the really heart felt ones. I’ll leave you with my favorite reminder from this issue.
