Superman #17

It is time for the truth in Superman #17. “The Truth: Prologue” has Superman between crisis right now but looking for some answers. Lois has her gift from Luthor to contend with. Jon is 1000 years in the future. And Leviathan has been revealed and disappeared. But S.T.A.R. Labs has something nefarious up their sleeve. Also, Clark and Kara have someplace they need to visit.

This was a pretty good transition issue. Not a lot of action but its nice to take a breath every once in a while and not just go from crisis to crisis. I’m not a huge fan of the art. It wasn’t bad by any means. The way people stand out in the panels from the background at times is pretty cool. I think I just don’t really like how Superman is drawn. He’s super square jawed. But really other than that everything looks good. I like the set up for the next story arc.

Superman #17

Its a lot of filler here to set up the next arc. Superman gets back to Lois after Jon has gone to be with the Legion of Superheroes. She has her gift from Luthor but wants to tackle that alone. Superman uncovers a secret S.T.A.R. Labs plot involving illegal inter-dimensional experiments. They may have developed a new teleportation technology. But they were working unchecked and under no regulation.

After the wrap up with S.T.A.R. Labs. Superman and Super Girl meet up at the Fortress of Solitude. Clark asks Kara to fly with him somewhere. He flies her to the new Krypton where Zod is making a new home. They have a back and forth conversation about something he wants to tell her before the ending leaves us hanging. I guess we will find out the truth in issues to come.
